The document destruction professionals at A Shred 2 Pieces are your “go-to-guys” for your one-time or routine shredding needs.  Whether you are a home-owner with a few boxes of sensitive records taking up valuable space or a business with a full-scale records retention program…  A Shred 2 Pieces is here to help!

Why Document Shredding is Critical

While a paperless, completely digital society may in the making, it will most likely only become reality many decades into the future.  Thus, the world has developed and sustained a heavy dependence on hard copy records for years. Through the involvement of national and state laws and regulations such as HIPPA, FACTA, HITECH, and of course the Texas State Shredding Law to name a few, professional shredding services like A Shred 2 Pieces are critical for both businesses and individuals alike to be compliant with such laws.  It is no secret that one of the world’s fastest growing crimes is identity theft.  Other such crimes as corporate or industrial espionage, often dealing with trade secrets is also prevalent in today’s modern society.

One-Time Services:

Paper records or documents are seemingly everywhere.  After a time, retention of documents is no longer necessary and retaining records too long can actually prove to be more of a liability than an asset!  When a business or individual has reached a point in time, typically over the course of 5-7 years, it may be necessary to conduct a bulk shred service.  Also known in the document destruction industry as a “purge” service.  Such services are available either via on-site or offsite methods.

At A Shred 2 Pieces, including all of our service areas in Texas, we specialize in the ONSITE destruction of your material, as we highly recommend this method as well.  While the offsite method is a viable, acceptable means of destroying data, it also presents its fair share of risks.  Such risks include higher chances of a security breach as documents are transported to a plant-based destruction source.  During this process, there can be multiple personnel handling the shredding process.  Thus, through the onsite process, materials are transported to a mobile shredding unit, parked or stationed on the physical property of the customer.  All materials presented for destruction are destroyed before we leave your premises.  Through today’s modern advances, most mobile shredding machines are outfitted with sophisticated video monitoring equipment, which allows for the complete, firsthand observation of the entire process.  A Shred 2 Pieces employs such equipment.

Non-Paper/Media Destruction Services

Information is contained on multiple platforms.  Common non-paper platforms include but are not limited to data tapes, compact disks, computer hard drives and USB removable drives.  Sensitive data may also be found on x-rays, prescription pill bottles, Mylar blueprints, and microfiche.  A Shred 2 Pieces also offers on-site service for all of your non-paper/media destruction needs.
